# About

Dane Isaac Associates is a real estate capital advisory firm based in Columbus, Ohio. David Opalek founded it in 2018 to structure and source debt and equity for multifamily, affordable housing and healthcare real estate.

## David Opalek, Founder and Principal

David has worked on real estate transactions from three seats.

He began as a lender. At Red Capital Group, now Lument, he closed more than $1 billion in loans and designed structured financings, including the first GNMA-backed Build America Bond. He then founded and grew the Columbus office of Love Funding, later acquired by Dwight Capital.

He moved to the owner’s side as Chief Investment Officer of Scioto Properties from 2021 to 2024, where he ran acquisitions.

He is also a lawyer. He holds a J.D. from Wayne State University and is admitted to the Ohio Bar, along with an MBA from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Alma College.

Clients hire him because he has done each party’s job. He knows what a credit committee will ask, what an investment committee will resist, and what the documents will say when the term sheet is silent.
